Meet Our Team – Annie McCarthy

Position title: Business Talent Development Executive

Q1. What is your role at Sugarman and how long have you worked for us?

A. My role as Sugarman is Business and Talent Development Executive, I have worked at Sugarman since 2015

Q2. What is your favourite part of your role?

A. I love it when I am able to find someone their ideal job, whether this is working at a hospital they’ve always wanted to or getting the opportunity to work in a clinical area that they have wanted to gain more experience in, it is always a good feeling! 

Q3. What is your favourite thing to do in London?

A. I love the summer in London! Living in South London I spend a lot of time in Greenwich Park, on Blackheath and in the pubs surrounding!  

Q4. What is your ideal holiday destination?

A. The Carribean is always a hit for me, although I would love to see more of Mexico

Q5. Where can we find you on the weekend?

A. Spending time with friends and family with time for yoga and good food in between

Q6. What work related advice would you give to our International candidates relocating to the UK?

A. Don’t be afraid to ask for opinions or advice- London is a big place and even bigger when getting familiar with it. I always urge any candidates to feel free to ask me anything, whether its where is best to work, live or have fun!

Q7. What is the first thing you would recommend our candidates do when they get into the UK (tourist tip or fun adventure ).

A. Spend time doing the touristy bits and seeing the sights, have a look on Secret London and Time Out for those special things happening! 

Q8. Do you live in London or do you commute to work? If so how long is your commute and what are your tips for the travel time?

A. I live in South East London and travel in to the city for work, it usually takes me around 45 minutes to travel to and from work, I have to take one train and tube 

Q9. Where is your favourite place to eat in either London or surrounds?

A. This is a tough one!! There is a fantastic restaurant called Piazza in Forest Hill in South East London which I have to say does amazing Italian food! I am also a sucker for a good Turkish restaurant! 

Q10. What are three things you love about the UK or five things you would miss if you left the UK?

A. My friends and family, My team at work and Christmas time in the City
